A Pink Floyd soundboard from 1975?
In March 2013, when the California Soundboard coloured vinyl went up on Ebay, it generated a debate on whether this was a genuine soundboard or an “alternate audience” recording. The debate continued at the Yeeshkul Forum and also when Andrea82 shared the 24-96 vinyl rip (click here - registration required); and it’s now generally accepted that this is a soundboard recording.
Famous Pink Floyd fan Roscoe commented “This is great, a soundboard from the 1975 tour. The thing with soundboards is that they always have their pros and cons. And as much as I appreciate this, and am looking forward to many, many listens, I would tend to prefer the Millard recording from the Sports Arena a few days later. But it’s great to have another choice. When all the pieces are put together I feel a thorough remastering is in order. There’s a low frequency hum throughout this which can be easily reduced or removed. Again, thanks for all the expense and time that went into bringing this to life!
